Last week our Year 5 students set off for an unforgettable adventure to Phillip Island, and what a wonderful time they had!
Blessed with beautiful weather (mainly) and joyful spirits, the camp was filled with laughter, learning and moments of courage as students tried new activities, deepened friendships and experienced God’s creation up close. From team challenges and coastal walks and canoeing to time singing around the campfire, each day was a chance to grow in confidence and community.
It was a week that truly captured the spirit of curiosity and joy that we love to see in our learners.
“Year 5 camp was one of the best school events! We had delicious food given to us every day and exciting activities planned for us. The best activities were definitely canoeing and the giant swing. The three days at camp were fantastic and jam-packed with fun, some free time everyday to either play with friends or just to chill in the fancy, motel-like cabins. We had a lot of fun!” Arianna, 5A
“My favourite part about camp was the flying fox and the canoeing. I also liked when we were staying in our cabins and chatting to my friends, we also had a pillow fight too! The food there was absolutely delicious and we even had zooper doopers for afternoon tea! Overall, my experience at camp was wonderful, especially when we went to see the penguin parade!” Justin, 5A
“Year 5 camp was so fun! We got to play in our cabins, see penguins, do fun activities and praise God at the campfire. Mr Lee shared a devotional story that was really good. Overall, Phillip Island is one of the best places the teachers chose for us!” Susheeth 5A
“We did archery, which seemed to defy the laws of gravity, as I hit a bullseye but the arrow bounced off the target, like what???" Young 5B
“None of the experience from the Giant Swing to the Team Rescue was just ordinary fun. Each activity had their own meaning. You either overcame your fear or practise working as a team with your class. My favourite activity by far was the Giant Swing." Melissa 5B
“I really enjoyed the experience to be with friends and doing activities. During the activities, we got to uncover a bit more about each other, our strengths and weakness. It also showed a bit each other's personality. There were a few activities that involve teamwork. These activities stood out to me personally because it showed me how my class works and how we use teamwork to get to a goal. Camp was a memorable experience that could never be replaced.” Sophie 5B
