Year 11 Snow Trip

Our Year 11 Sport & Recreation and Geography students hit the slopes at Mt. Buller to put their classroom knowledge to the test in the snow!

Our Year 11 Sport & Recreation and Geography students headed off to Mt. Buller two weeks ago to grab the very last of the snow season. The purpose of the snow trip was to give students the opportunity to see how what they have learnt in class is applied in a real-world setting.

For Geography students completing Unit 2, the focus was on land use and tourism, and how Mt Buller attracts people both locally and internationally. For Sport and Recreation students, the focus was on how programs are planned, work health and safety regulations are applied, and the use of resources.

Important learning took place in the context of snowboarding! For most students, this was a new skill to learn, although some snow veterans were amongst the group as well.

Our super staff, Mr. Parker, Mrs. McDonogh and Mr. Hadlow, tell us it was a great group to go away with, and we congratulate them all for looking so steezy on the slopes!
