Primary Boys T-Ball Team Shines at Division Finals
On Thursday 18th July, our Primary Boys T-Ball team competed in the Division Finals at MacPherson Park, facing the Melton District 2 champions (Aintree Primary School) and Bacchus Marsh champions (Bacchus Marsh Grammar) for a chance to advance to the Regional Finals in Geelong.
Our first game was challenging, but a strong performance in the 3rd inning secured our win against Bacchus Marsh Grammar. The second game against Aintree Primary School was effectively the Grand Final, with the winner moving on to Regionals — a milestone never before achieved by Heathdale Melton.
Aintree started strongly with big hits, but a game-changing double play by Cody I at first base shifted the momentum in our favor. Aintree Primary School ended the inning with only 3 runs and couldn’t recover, while our batters, including Sharav T, Yuvraj S, and Lovepreet B, secured the maximum seven runs.
Congratulations to our boys, and best of luck at the Regional Finals on the 26th of July in Geelong!
CSEN Cross Country
Three different competitors medaled in the Cross-Country CSEN Championships on Thursday 25th July.
These athletes displayed extraordinary grit and determination. They faced a trying day full of wind, rain and mud, yet they conquered the course and claimed their place on the podium. Their medals are a testament to their amazing work ethic and running abilities. Heathdale Melton won last year’s C Division, meaning that we were competing in the B Division this year. To then go on and still have students medal in the next division (which generally includes schools with far bigger populations) was excellent.
Congratulations to Lana v.d.W (Year 9), who won 1st in Under 15 Girls B Division; Andre F (Year 9), who won 1st in Under 15 Boys B Division and 2nd overall for Under 15 Boys in All A/B/C Divisions; and Isaac F (Year 11), who won 2nd in Under 21 Boys B Division.
