On Monday 2nd September, Heathdale Werribee proudly sent three teams to compete in the CSEN Volleyball Championships. Each team came prepared, determined and ready to showcase their skills on the court.
Senior Boys
The Senior Boys got off to a flying start, powering through their pool matches with three convincing wins to top their group. Their strong performance secured them a direct place in the semi-final, where they faced Heathdale Melton. In a thrilling contest, the boys held their composure under pressure and clinched victory in the deciding set. Advancing to the grand final, they faced Glen Waverley Christian College. The match was filled with exciting rallies and powerful blocks that shook the court. Despite their efforts, the boys fell in the second set, finishing runners-up after a commendable campaign.
Junior Girls
The Junior Girls faced a tough start, losing their first two pool games and finishing at the bottom of their group. However, they refused to give up. Regrouping for the elimination rounds, the girls found their rhythm and surged through the next three matches to secure a place in the final. Fittingly, they came up against Lighthouse Christian College – one of the teams they had lost to earlier in the day. In a gripping match, the girls fought bravely but narrowly fell short, earning themselves a well-deserved silver medal.
Junior Boys
The Junior Boys had a packed schedule with four pool matches. They dominated three of them comfortably, but their clash with Lighthouse Christian College tested their resilience. Digging deep, the boys secured a hard-fought win to finish top of their group. Momentum carried them into the semi-final, where they swept aside their opponents 3–0. In the final against Christway Christian College, teamwork and determination shone through, and the boys claimed victory to cap off an outstanding day.
A huge congratulations to all three Heathdale Werribee teams for their effort, determination and sportsmanship. Each player represented the school with pride, leaving a lasting impression on the championship.
