On Friday 10th October, the Primary students at the Werribee campus joyfully celebrated Belonging Day by coming to school dressed in their cultural clothing.
The campus was alive with colour, patterns, and smiles as children proudly shared the stories and traditions that make their families unique. The traditional dress was amazing to see and we had great fun guessing the cultures.
In classrooms, students had the opportunity to talk about their heritage and learn about the many different cultures that make up our Heathdale community. It was a wonderful reminder that while we each come from different backgrounds, we are all created uniquely and beautifully in the image of God (Genesis 1:27).
At Heathdale, we believe every child deserves to experience safety, dignity, and belonging. Days like this help our students see that inclusion is not simply about being together, it’s about being valued for who God made us to be. When we celebrate our differences, we reflect God’s creativity and His heart for all people.
Belonging Day reminds us that we are one community, united under Christ, where every student has a place and every story matters. While for some cultures the traditional dress is a little harder than others we very much appreciated the effort everyone made.
