It was a big term for our Primary swimmers!
First up were the Divisions Carnival on 10th March, which pitted the best swimmers from north‑west Melbourne against one another. Following her strong performance at Districts in February, Jasper D.S (5B) once again showed her class, finishing first in the 10 Girls Freestyle and first in the 10 Girls Breaststroke, securing her place at Regionals.
Blake S (6B) also continued his strong form, finishing second in Freestyle and third in Breaststroke. Our 10 Girls Freestyle Relay Team delivered an outstanding performance, finishing first and securing a place at Regionals. This achievement marked the first relay team from Heathdale Melton to do so!
The Regional Championships were held in Geelong on 31st March and brought together the best swimmers from across Western Victoria.
Needless to say, the competition was next level. Our swimmers gave their absolute best, with Jasper placing fourth in both Freestyle and Breaststroke, Blake finishing sixth in Freestyle, and our Girls Relay Team placing seventh.
While we didn’t progress to State, our swimmers should be incredibly proud of their efforts. A well‑earned chocolate Paddle Pop at the end of the day was the perfect way to celebrate a fantastic journey in the pool this season.
