Swimming into the Record Books

A record-breaking day in the pool saw our Werribee Primary swim team qualify three relay teams and multiple individuals for the SSV State Championships!

On Tuesday 1st April, sixteen of Werribee Primary’s finest swimmers headed to Kardinia Aquatic Centre to participate in the Western Metropolitan Swimming Championships. We had some outstanding results on the day.

Kyra and Alexandro both finished second in their age groups for Breaststroke and Freestyle respectively, each missing qualification for the state finals by less than two seconds.

Claire finished first in both her heats, qualifying fastest and earning a place in the state championships for both Freestyle and Breaststroke.

Then came the relays—and for the first time in Heathdale history, we have had three teams qualify for the state finals: our Girls Medley team, our 9–10 Girls Relay team (who won by a touch), and our 12-Year-Old Girls Relay team.

Today, on May 1st, we had a record number of students attending the SSV State Championships. More updates to come!
