Welcome back to school for Term 4. I love this time of year. We are now in daylight savings, spring is sprung, we are both gearing up for exams and end of year celebrations, and also welcoming new students through our Orientation sessions.

Camps

During the first week of Term 4, the Year 4 students attended their first overnight camp, which is the year level that overnight camping programs begin at Heathdale. This year, the Year 4 students spent three days off-site at Camp Wilkin in Anglesea, participating in a range of rotational activities including Archery, Flying Fox, and a Low Ropes Course. Hopefully, the students had a restful weekend after their new experience. Having now had two Primary camps, later this term the Year 3 students will participate in our pre-camp program with an extended day and evening event.

Prep 2024

On Wednesday of this week, we had our first Prep 2024 Orientation Session. It was a beautiful morning with the Melton team excited to be welcoming the soon-to-be youngest students of 2024. While the future Prep students spent time with each other and were engaged in a few classroom activities with the teachers and other educational support staff, the parents and guardians gathered together in the Auditorium for an introductory session with a number of administrative and educational leaders. It is my hope that many of the questions that new parents had were answered but if not, please continue to ask as we partner together in education.

Iain Belot - Principal of Melton for 2024

During this week we have also had the privilege of hosting the 2024 Heathdale Christian College Melton Campus Principal Mr Iain Belot for three days. These days have been a helpful time of information sharing to ensure that the College campus continues to run smoothly as we begin our first VCE classes next year.

Finally, please remember that we want the students to me SunSmart and wear a hat when outside during this term.
