It has been noticeably warmer on a few occasions over the past few weeks. The trees are in blossom. Students are certainly enjoying the opportunities to run around in the sunshine. Spring is here!
Book Week
Last week we enjoyed the annual event which is Book Week. On Tuesday morning, broadly under the theme of ‘Read, Grow, Inspire’, many of the staff and students took the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and dress up as book characters. Some outfits were fairly subtle. Some were very colourful. Some were amazingly elaborate. What was wonderful was the encouragement for students to embrace a love of reading. This was evident in the Book Week parade which was hosted by ‘Jack’ from the classic book, ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ (AKA Mrs Duncanson). While there was an emphasis on showing off our various outfits, ‘Jack’ also asked questions about books and characters offering magic beans to those who joined in the fun. Thank you so much for assisting the Book Week through providing the outfits. It was also great to see so many parents attending the two parades.
After School Play
With the days warming up, families may be tempted to spend some time playing on the College’s playgrounds after school. Please be reminded that we have staff on duty on the College grounds from 8.10am to 3.30pm. Staff are not available to supervise the playgrounds after school and the College’s First Aid facilities are also not available. As we value student safety, we ask that you support this by not using the playgrounds after 3.10pm.
Open Day
We look forward to seeing prospective families at our second Open Day at the Melton campus on Thursday 7th September.
