Reaching Out in Tough Times
Our school captains led us last Friday in a time of prayer for our ‘next-door neighbours’. The Glendale Aged Care facility sits between our Werribee campus and the Plaza. Sadly, we’ve watched the news reports of a number of COVID cases connected with Glendale over the past fortnight. Staff and students gathered at the end of lunch (physically distanced and with our masks on) to pray for Glendale.
Although our VCE-VCAL students are facing their own challenges this year, it is important to keep supporting our wider community as we battle the impact of COVID together. Our captains sent flowers to the staff and residents on behalf of the whole college community with some well-chosen words of encouragement. Thanks Danielle, Miquette, Riley and Alex!
House Activities are Back & Online
With all our students back in remote learning for an extended period of time, we have cranked the House Competition into top gear and moved online. Students have been encouraged this week to contact their House Leader to volunteer to compete in online Chess, a General Knowledge competition (Kahoot) or to join a team for Rocket League. We are expecting some fierce but friendly competition and a welcomed opportunity to feel connected with each other through some online antics and rivalry. Just quietly: there’s some staff members pretty excited about some online Rocket League action too! Might have to have a staff playoff to finish off the competition. Stay tuned!
