Dear God,
Thank you for giving us what we need most.
In Your Bible, it is written that "if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." (James 1:5). Often, we think we need knowledge, wealth, or happiness, when what we really need is wisdom. Thank you for loving us so much that You give wisdom generously and without finding fault.
When times are hard, we ask that You bestow Your wisdom upon us, help us to lean on Your guidance and understanding, to be faithful to listen to You, and to be in community with people that speak Your truth. Please give us hearts of discernment to know when You are using someone to speak to us, or when we can be a wise voice to others.
Above all, may we trust in You with all our heart and not lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge You, for You will make our paths straight.
