Our 20 Years of Kinder Family Celebration

Celebrating two decades of God's faithfulness, our Kindergarten families gathered to honour the past, celebrate the present and carry the Kinder story forward, with Noah's Ark-inspired costumes and a rainbow-topped cake adding a joyful nod to our earliest days.

Our Kindergarten community recently came together for a special 20 Years of Kinder Family Celebration. While the milestone provided an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far, the heart of the event was celebrating our current Kindergarten families, who are carrying forward the story of Kinder and helping shape its next chapter.

Kinder Coordinator Mr Jeremy Jonathan opened the event in prayer, followed by reflections from Executive Principal Ross Grace on the lasting impact of Heathdale's Kindergarten program. The afternoon concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving led by Primary Principal Yvonne Harvey.

Children were invited to dress as their favourite animal, a fun nod to the Noah's Ark mural that was a feature of the original Kindergarten room when the program first began. Families enjoyed face painting, snacks, music, playtime, student art displays and the launch of a new initiative designed to provide parent feedback and encouragement to our Kindergarten staff.

A special highlight was welcoming Ken Storey, a foundational Heathdale Board member who served as Board Chair when the Kindergarten was dedicated in 2005, ready to welcome its first students in 2006. Ken shared reflections on the vision behind the Kindergarten's establishment before joining families to cut the commemorative cake, linking the College's history and the vibrant Kindergarten community of today.

As we celebrated this milestone, we were reminded of the strong foundations of faith, learning and community that continue to guide our youngest learners. We are deeply thankful for God's faithfulness throughout the past 20 years and look forward with anticipation to all He has in store for our Kindergarten in the years ahead.
