On Friday 30th May, we had our Winter Sports Lightning Cup where all our Year 6 students and selected Year 5s competed in Netball, T-Ball amd AFL.

It was a massive day in the local interschool calendar – 200+ students from eleven Primary schools competing in 40 teams across three sports!

Our Boys AFL team came 4th overall on the day – a massive improvement from last year, where we unable to progress to finals.

Our Girls Netball team, coached by Mrs Lindeque, finished 3rd overall and were unlucky not to make the Grand Final after drawing with eventual winners, Wedge Park. This was our best result yet in Netball!

Finally, our Girls T-Ball team, coached by Mrs Eckles, finished top of their Pool and went straight into the Grand Final, going down to Wedge Park narrowly to finish as Runners Up!

Well done to all our teams and coaches for your hard work and dedication over the Term!

On Friday 6th June, we headed to Aintree Reserve to compete in the Year 5/6 Soccer Tournament.

Our boys finished top of their Pool without dropping a game, but went down to a determined St. Anthony’s team in the semis. In the 3rd place playoff game, they were able to shake off the disappointment of the semi to clinch victory against Wedge Park in a dramatic penalty shootout, with Deng Tor from Year 5 calmly slotting in the final goal.

Our girls team came 3rd in their pool with a win, a loss and two draws. Overall, they placed 5th – a great result considering many of the girls were playing their first soccer match!

Well done team!
