As we approach the final stages of the 2025 school year, we are actively working to organise the details of the 2026 school year.
At Heathdale, we understand thanksgiving through a Biblical lens as a constant praise to God for Who He is and what He has done in our lives and in the lives of others.
We understand thanksgiving as the act of giving thanks for something received, but the Bible goes further than this simple definition. The Biblical meaning of the word “thanksgiving” is not something you say in response to some good that was done for you; rather it is a believer’s spiritual attitude toward life. It means gratitude, giving thanks, or conveying gratefulness to God is an act of worship.
As we experience God’s goodness in our lives and reflect on His greatness, we could say that every day is a day of thanksgiving. It is a privilege to offer our thanks to God in prayer when we wake, when we eat, throughout the day and at bedtime. We convey our thankfulness in everything we say and do; it is part and parcel of being a Christian.
When we live this way, other believers around us can’t help but be influenced to offer their own thankful prayers to God. We must live as thankful people for the sole reason that we live under the mighty hand of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
From this perspective, all of our life is Christ’s, and all of life’s activities become opportunities to offer thanks.
We have a number of things for which to give thanks, and I wanted to bring them to your attention.
1. The campus is fully staffed for 2026. Barring unforeseen circumstances, all our teachers are appointed.
2. We have also completed the school timetable for 2026. Many thanks to the work of our Deputy Principal, Mr Nick Kopitschinski for progressing this work so capably.
3. The forthcoming Step-Up Day for the Primary years can now occur with students allocated to their 2026 class and with their allocated teacher for 2026.
4. The campus expects to have over 600 students in 2026. This represents a significant growth.
5. We will be incorporating a new leadership structure within the campus for learning and teaching. We are excited to have this fully staffed and in place for 2026.
These outcomes are reliant on the powerful and positive provision on God. We cannot celebrate these achievements without offering thanksgiving to Him.
