On Friday 15th May, God blessed our Year 1 students with beautiful weather for our exciting excursion to the Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Students arrived buzzing with excitement and enjoyed seeing many amazing animals throughout the day, including vervet monkeys, koalas, emus, kangaroos, and hippos. A highlight for many was visiting the adorable new lion cubs!
Students especially loved the Safari Bus adventure, where we came up close to rhinos and zebras grazing on the grass. Along the way, we also spotted antelopes, and giraffes and oryx roaming across the open plains.
Another exciting part of the day was exploring the Dino Trail, where students came face to face with a variety of dinosaurs and enjoyed stepping back in time to discover these incredible prehistoric creatures.
As part of our learning experience, students became 'Habitat Heroes' as they explored a wallaby habitat, observed the wallabies up close and discovered ways we can respect and care for wildlife and their environments. It was a wonderful day filled with learning, adventure, and unforgettable memories for all.
