The Wallaby, Echidna, Koala and Possum 4-Year-Old Kinder children were filled with oohs, aahs and wows during our exciting Wildlife Xposure incursion! Tom our presenter brought along an incredible variety of Australian animals, sharing engaging facts, humour and important safety knowledge as the children met each creature up close.
From fluffy nocturnal friends like Pepper the Squirrel Glider and Alba the Barn Owl, to fascinating reptiles including Stumpy the Shingleback Lizard, Freddo the Frog, Tommy the Long-necked Turtle, Homer the Spotted Python and even Johnny the Crocodile, the children were captivated. They loved gently patting and holding the animals while learning how frogs keep their skin moist, how shinglebacks smell with their tongues, and how to stay safe if they ever encounter a snake in the wild – “freeze, stay still, slowly step back and tell an adult.”
This experience beautifully connected with our learning about Creation. As we have been exploring how God created the animals on Day 6, the children were reminded of His incredible design and creativity. As it says in Genesis 1:24–25, God made the wild animals “according to their kinds” – and declared that it was good. What a joy it was to see His creation up close and marvel at its wonder together!
A heartfelt thank you to Wildlife Xposure for such an unforgettable and faith-filled learning adventure.
