Our school values the learning and development of our staff, and the positive impact this has on student outcomes and school improvement.
We are proud to share that Mrs Faluyi and Mr Hadlow are both completing the Teaching Excellence Program at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership this year. Admission into the course is limited, and teachers must submit an extensive application, including a referral from school leadership.
This program enables skilled teachers to further develop their capabilities in teaching. Over the course of a year, participants deepen their knowledge of teaching practices by engaging with contemporary educational research and inquiring into two areas of their practice.
Mr Fourie completed the program two years ago and found the learning and collaboration with other teachers around his areas of expertise invaluable. Since that time, Mr Fourie has become the Learning Team Leader for Health and PE at the Werribee campus.
We look forward to Mrs Faluyi and Mr Hadlow sharing their skills and knowledge from the program as they continue to support student learning and wellbeing outcomes at our school, and we wish them all the best for their busy year of teaching and learning.
