2026 College Captains

I am delighted to announce that our College Captains for 2026 are Ashlan Egan-McCormick and Kai Fahnbulleh, and our College Vice-Captains are Martha Yazah and Callum Spratling.

Ashlan is a clear and personable communicator. Her vision for the school is to create a number and range of places where students can develop belonging. Ashlan desires to close the gap between people and, also to make our identity more authentic. Of particular interest is to increase Christian influence of the students’ on and in the school. Ashlan writes, “Being a leader also gives me the chance to show and share Jesus’s love to those around me.” (Matthew 22:39)

Kai is a young man of considerable maturity and integrity. He impressed with his vision for making the school a community. He spoke passionately about the heart of community being dignity and connection. Kai referenced, (1 Corinthians 10:31), "So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God". Kai wrote, “I want to wear the three words, Heathdale Chrisitan College with pride and honour across my chest and promote the Heathdale culture on the campus.”

Martha has a clear vision to build unity within the school and to connect with students of every year level. She has enacted this vision as an influential leader in the promotion of Belonging Day in 2024 and 2025. She referenced the scripture, “For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Martha wrote, “By becoming a leader I hope to achieve unity. I find that we often find ways to divide ourselves instead of unite, and a united student body is one that is impactful and capable of great change.”

At a personal level, Callum believes that his journey through the school as a learner and person serves to encourage others to believe in the very process of growth and personal change that the school encourages and supports. Callum has a sense of championing the students to connect and engage in the school as a community. He is affirming of the position of ‘leading without the badge’ as a consideration of all students. Callum wrote, “I would like to achieve a feeling between the Heathdale community that everyone can succeed and set an example for others without wearing a badge, as people tend to think that you need a badge to be a leader. I would like to make students feel as though they can achieve anything and help provide for the community in different areas of learning despite their academic abilities as this again doesn’t define who they are, and how what happens in the past doesn’t define who you are to be in the future.”

We look forward to seeing them thrive in their captaincy roles in 2026.

Our Partnership with Combined Churches Caring, Melton Foodbank

Heathdale Christian College, Melton Campus is blessed to continue its partnership with the Combined Churches Caring Melton Foodbank, a not-for-profit organisation that has faithfully served the City of Melton since 1995 by providing essential food support to local families. This year’s Christmas Food Drive has once again highlighted the generosity and community-minded spirit of our students and families.

As part of our ongoing support, Year 6 students hosted their annual Market Stall fundraiser, with all proceeds dedicated to the Melton Foodbank. Under the guidance and encouragement of Mrs Freda Lindeque and Mrs Clair Saikali, the students exceeded all expectations—raising an impressive $2,241.20. Their hard work and servant-hearted leadership are a wonderful example of our College values in action.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all students, families, and staff who contributed through donations or by supporting the Market Stall. Your kindness allows us to continue blessing our local community in meaningful ways.

Merry Christmas!

As we come to the end of another wonderful year at Heathdale Christian College, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our students, staff, parents and guardians for your unwavering support throughout 2025. Your partnership, encouragement and commitment to our community have been a true blessing.

As we enter the Christmas season, my prayer is that your homes are filled with joy, rest, and the hope that Christ brings. May you enjoy a safe and refreshing break and may the peace of God be with you and your families.

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and a wonderful start to the new year.
