In three, two, one… GO! These were the words that the students at Heathdale heard multiple times on Wednesday and Thursday this week as they competed in the 2021 G.A.T.E.WAYS Challenge.

A total of thirty-two students from Years 3 to 6 competed against teams of students from other Victorian schools. The teams did a wonderful job of representing our school. They showed grit and determination as well as excellent collaboration and problem-solving skills as they worked through some truly mind-bending challenges under extreme time pressure. During remote learning, the teams met weekly to prepare for the challenge. The teams, their families and the school community can be very proud of their efforts and what they were able to achieve in each of four 30-minute challenges.
