We are enormously proud of our Year 12s and the way they have held their heads high as they’ve travelled through this very difficult year. As we celebrate the end of their school days with them this week, we are reflecting on more than just 2020. We are gathering our memories of all the years, the milestones, the learning and the personal growth they have shown during their time at Heathdale.
While current school restrictions have not allowed us to go ahead with our large Year 12 farewell assembly, we haven’t let this stand in the way of our traditional Prep and Year 12 gift exchange. Our Preps created a wonderful video message of their support along with a special gift for each student to mark this final year at Heathdale. Our Year 12s also sent our Preps a video message and a special gift to remind them to keep growing all the way through their school years.
Year 12s, we want you to know that we are going to be cheering you on and keeping you in our prayers all the way to the finish line of 2020. We hope you will leave Heathdale knowing that you are truly cared for, that you belong and that you will always be welcome as part our community. We can’t wait to hear what you do next!
Welcome Back Years 8, 9 & 10
We finally feel complete again with our Year 8s, 9s and 10s returning to campus at the start of this week. You could feel the buzz around campus as the last groups of students finally left remote learning and returned to classroom life. Our students have been excellent at adapting to new procedures around health and safety and our teachers are really enjoying being able to see their students live and in-person. We are looking forward to finishing the year well and making the most of face-to-face time in the class to revise and consolidate the year’s learning all the way to the end of term.
