All of our Year 7–11 students this term engaged in workshops around study and revision skills presented by Elevate Education. With so much disruption in the last couple of years, extra support around how to best organise their time and apply helpful study techniques will scaffold our students’ transition back into the core study habits that are needed for the Secondary years of their education journey.
If you haven’t done so already, I would encourage you to have a conversation with your children about what they have taken away from their Elevate session and how they might apply that in the lead up to our mid-year exams. If you’d be interested in attending any of Elevate’s parent webinars about supporting study and exam preparation, you can register here: Webinar Registration | AU (elevatecoaching.info)
The time leading up to exams also means a busy couple of weeks beforehand, finalising other assessment tasks like assignments and revising the semester’s work. Families can support students in this time by encouraging great routines like healthy eating, good sleep habits and finding time to stay active and keep a balanced perspective.
Our dates for exams are as follows:
Year 11 exams: Friday 26th May - Thurs 2nd June
Year 9 & 10 exams: Tuesday 31st May - Thurs 2nd June
Year 8 exams: Wed 1st June - Thurs 2nd June
Year 7 exams: Thurs 2nd of June
Please note that Friday, 3rd of June is a student-free day for Secondary students. Exam papers and reports will be occupying teachers at school while students have a well-earned rest.
