In Semester 2, our College Captains are kicking off the action with a Crazy Hair Day to raise funds for our friends at Rehoboth Children’s Home. It’s a bit like Crazy Sock Day – wear something crazy and bring a gold coin donation – but let’s get Paul de la Cruz to explain:
“Crazy Hair Day is a fundraiser for Rehoboth Children’s home, targeted at bringing more liveliness to what we all (mostly) have — hair. Similar to last year’s Crazy Sock Day, we thought it would be a lively, yet still inclusive idea for students and teachers to come together on Friday, July the 23rd, all with crazy hair! There are boundless ‘hairy’ styles students will be able to create and wear to school, while teachers will be encouraged to show some extra flair for the event. This event offers another opportunity to lighten the mood from the harsh mid-year winter weather. We’re excited to bring this opportunity to the wider community of our school, giving students and teachers another opportunity to connect and share a few laughs and giggles between the younger and older generations.
“Our funds will be raised via a gold coin donation, collected during the homeroom sessions. So don’t forget to bring a gold coin with your Crazy Hair. On top of this, there will be a sausage sizzle accompanied by live music from our very own MIS students! The food prices, you’ll be glad to hear, are the same.
Sausages and drinks – $2 each
2 sausage and drink deal – $5
“We will be able to accept cash and card on the day, so we hope that you can get involved in this crazy fun fundraiser!” – Paul
If all goes well, the College Captains are hoping to bring the craziness to Primary and our Melton campus. So watch this space!
