College Captain Announcement Coming Soon

While we celebrate our Class of 2019, who are neck deep in VCE exams, we're also excited about the future leaders at our College.

I have had the privilege of being party to some significant transitions over the course of the last two weeks. The first has, of course, been the conclusion of the Class of 2019’s journey as students at Heathdale. They concluded in the manner that they have conducted themselves over their time at Heathdale – with maturity, mutual celebration and support and creativity.

The Valedictory Dinner last Thursday evening was a real highpoint. As each young man and woman was presented to the room we were struck by how far they had come this year. And yet, as we know, while graduation from school is a significant accomplishment it’s only the beginning of life’s journey.

I pray that that the Class of 2019 will enjoy God’s Blessing and peace as they sit their VCE exams over the coming weeks, and that in whatever the future holds they remember the words of Romans 8:38-39.

“Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Next year, we look forward to welcoming the Class of 2020 and equipping them throughout their final year at the College. I had the privilege of being included on the interview panel for the 2020 College Captain and Vice-Captain selection process and it was reassuring to see the changing of the guard so well represented by this next generation, who are really coming into their own. Watch this space, this significant announcement will be coming next week.

The presentation of the 2019 China Trip has shifted to the Assembly on Wednesday, November 20.
