Heathdale flower

All schools in Australia, including government, Independent and Catholic schools, will participate in the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (the data collection).

All education agencies are required under the Australian Education Regulation 2013 to provide information on a student’s level of education, disability and level of adjustment to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. Data will be de-identified prior to its transfer to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training. No student’s identity will be provided to the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.

Other details about the information to be collected, and the format in which the information is to be provided to the Department, are contained in guidelines approved by the Education Council (the committee of the Council of Australian Governments comprising the Commonwealth and state and territory Ministers responsible for education). Guidelines for the national data collection are available on the Department’s website (www.education.gov.au).
