What a joyful season we have shared together as we celebrated Mother’s Day across the College! From the excitement of the Mother’s Day Stall to the laughter and connection at our Mother’s Day Breakfast, it was a beautiful reminder of the important role mothers, grandmothers, carers and special women play in the lives of our children and community.
Our Kinder to Year 6 students thoroughly enjoyed visiting the Mother’s Day Stall, carefully selecting special treasures and gifts with great seriousness and excitement. There is always something very sweet about watching children thoughtfully choose presents, eager to bless the important women in their lives. A heartfelt thank you must go to the mums and staff who generously gave their time to buy gifts, set up, wrap gifts, assist students and create such a welcoming and joyful atmosphere. These events simply could not happen without your servant-hearted support and willingness to help. See the wonderful photos.
Our Mother’s Day Breakfast was another brilliant highlight. It was fantastic to see families gathered together enjoying delicious food, warm conversation, music, dancing (thank you Mr Zimmerman and Ms Scriven) and community fellowship – even real coffee! There was such a lovely atmosphere of joy and gratitude as students shared this special morning with the women who care for, encourage, nurture and pray for them each day.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 31:28 that, “Her children arise and call her blessed.” Motherhood, caregiving and the daily work of loving and guiding children is deeply valuable and God-honouring work. We thank all the women in our community for the countless seen and unseen ways you reflect Christ’s love through your patience, wisdom, kindness, encouragement and sacrifice.
And while the mums have had their special celebrations, we know there are already some excited dads wondering when their turn is coming! Stay tuned later in the year for our first Father’s Day Stall and our always-popular Footy Father’s Day celebrations. We are looking forward to another fantastic opportunity to gather together as a community for fun, connection and plenty of laughter.
