At our school, we believe every child has the potential to be a leader, and we are committed to nurturing those gifts through a Biblical lens. One key way we do this is through our Class Captains program, which allows students to serve their peers and lead within their classrooms.
Class Captains are not simply given a badge—they are entrusted with a role of responsibility. Throughout the term, they participate in leadership training designed to help them understand leadership from a biblical perspective. We explore the example of Jesus, the ultimate servant leader, and the truth that leadership is about influencing others for good, not seeking status for ourselves.
In our training, we focus on four core characteristics:
Servanthood – putting the needs of others first and leading with a heart to serve.
Confidence with Humility – stepping forward with courage while recognising that all gifts come from God.
Faithfulness – showing commitment and reliability in both small and significant responsibilities.
Compassion – caring deeply for others, showing kindness and empathy.
Each Class Captain also receives a Class Captain’s Handbook with practical tips for success and leading well in their classrooms and the school community. The back of the booklet includes a checklist of ways to model and serve with integrity.
Watching our Class Captains grow into leaders who influence with love, integrity, and purpose is inspiring. We pray that these experiences will shape them into faithful leaders for life, ready to serve in school and their homes, churches and communities, living out the calling to “serve one another humbly in love” (Galatians 5:13).
