This year’s Book Week theme, “Book an Adventure,” invited students to journey into the world of imagination—and what an adventure it was!

Book Week began early in Term 3 with a special author visit from the inspiring Joel McKerrow, whose storytelling and energy created a buzz across both Melton and Werribee campuses. His visit set the tone for a week filled with literary excitement and creative exploration.

Thanks to the incredible efforts of our library team, services staff and teaching teams, students enjoyed a variety of engaging activities throughout the week. From story time to colouring and craft sessions, the libraries were transformed into vibrant hubs of creativity.

Both campuses held Colouring Competitions, with Melton featuring entries from both Primary and Secondary students. Our judges had a tough time choosing from so many colourful and imaginative submissions. Congratulations to the following winners:

Dress-Up Day was a highlight across both campuses, with students and staff dressing as their favourite book characters. One standout moment was a Melton Secondary teacher who went all out as Avatar: The Last Airbender—a true crowd favourite!

Primary students at both Melton and Werribee enjoyed lively parades, with parents joining in to celebrate the fun and cheer on the imaginative costumes.

The Lamont Book Fair was a fantastic success, thanks to the enthusiastic support from families and staff. Sales figures were impressive:

- Werribee: $5,592.79
- Melton: $2,303.00

With a 30% commission from these sales, we’re thrilled to be able to purchase new resources for our libraries—further enriching our students’ learning experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to all students, parents, and staff who helped make Book Week 2025 such a memorable and meaningful celebration. Your energy, creativity, and support brought stories to life and made this week one to remember.
