I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all families.

As a campus, we have enjoyed a very good and calm start to the College year. There has certainly been a buzz on campus in these first few weeks. Our first day on the 1st of February was a wonderful celebration with so many families onsite helping with the transition to the new school year. Later on, we enjoyed a start-of-year assembly in the main courtyard where we sang a few songs together and took the opportunity to introduce our new teaching staff to the students. These new teachers are:

Mr Abrahams (Secondary Teacher Sports Coordinator)

Mrs Gwamba (Secondary Teacher)

Mr Latham (Secondary Teacher and Year 9&10 Coordinator)

Ms Mtambra (Secondary Teacher)

Mr Tepace (Secondary Teacher and Year 7&8 Coordinator)

Miss Wang (Secondary Teacher)

Miss Zarb (Secondary Teacher)

Additionally, we welcomed back Mrs Hernandez (Primary Teacher) from parental leave.

The major reason for the College employing these new teachers is our continued expansion into the Secondary years. We now have a campus with over 400 students ranging from Prep to Year 10. Not only have we been blessed with additional class groups and staff, but we also have our new Year 9 & 10 classroom space comprising five new classroom areas, and two new Year 4 classrooms. These are very inviting learning spaces that I am sure will benefit the students.

At the end of last year, I mentioned our commitment to seek to grow in understanding how our faith in Christ impacts all that we do in Christian schooling. This was an element of our focus during the Professional Development Week that preceded the start of the school year. As a College, we want to ensure that our Christian faith is not simply a profession of beliefs; rather, we understand our Christian faith concerns discipleship. It is about actions that are often summed up as loving God and loving neighbour, and it should be seen in all that we do, including our teaching and learning.

I certainly look forward to seeing many of you onsite this year at College events, including our regular assemblies.
