A Prayer of Wisdom for Our Leaders

Join us as we pray for our leaders, both locally and nationally.

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind.” (James 1:5-6 NLT)

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” (Proverbs 2:6 ESV)

Generous God, we praise you for all that You are and all that You have done for us. We acknowledge Your sovereignty, grace and love in all things.

Father God, the past few years have been a challenge for many people in our community, and we ask that you comfort them and bless them during this time. From our courageous healthcare workers to our struggling small business owners; those serving us in the police force, to those shepherding believers in our local churches; to the mums, dads and guardians who have worked from home and managed to encourage their children to study and remain motivated. Be with our community and draw them closer to You.

Lord, we also thank you and continue to pray for those making decisions for our good, who lead us both locally and nationally. We pray for Scott Morrison, Daniel Andrews, our local mayors and our senior leadership team here at Heathdale Christian College. We humbly ask that you provide them with wisdom, grace, knowledge, compassion and equity.

We ask these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour,

Amen.
