A Prayer for India

Praying with our Indian families and all in our community who are enduring great heartbreak.

We have been immensely blessed to live in Australia during this COVID-19 pandemic. Yet we are mindful that many countries around the world have not been so fortunate.

On Monday of this week (26th of April, 2021) India recorded 352,991 new cases and 2812 deaths, and the people of our great neighbour have continued to suffer greatly since. Our hearts ache when we hear such news and see the suffering and hardship that is happening within this great land. We thank God for the Indian families that He has woven into the diverse tapestry that make up our school community. We want you to know that we are earnestly praying for you and for your family and friends living in India.

We also recognise and pray for all in our school community who over the past year have lost loved ones, and experienced the heartache and compounded grief that comes from being physically removed due to travel restrictions.

We sincerely desire to stand with our entire community during this challenging time. If you have a prayer request, please send it to: prayer@heathdale.vic.edu.au and if you need assistance in coping with grief, loss, anxiety, or any other matter, please contact: pastoralcare@heathdale.vic.edu.au

If you require extra support in light of these recent events, we also encourage you to connect with Lifeline on 13 11 14, Beyondblue on 1300 22 4636, or Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800 if you notice a change in your child’s behaviour.
