“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:3)
Heavenly Father, we lift up the fathers of our community with adoration and love. Dads play such an important, vital role in our families as mentors, teachers, carers, providers and supporters. May the fathers in our community be empowered by your Holy Spirit to be strong, grounded leaders in their families.
Some of our dads are raising their families alone; we especially ask for a blessing of strength and wisdom for those who are on the front line without a partner alongside. We also lift up those struggling at this time of the year, who are grieving loss and/or experiencing hurt and disappointment; may you be their source of comfort, and may their hearts be filled with peace as you show yourself to be their Heavenly Father in a deeply personal way.
Thank you, Lord, as you have placed us in families, each of us having a part to play in the raising of Godly children. Bless the dads, the father figures and role models in our Heathdale community, may they know that they are valued and loved.
