A P-2 Sports Day to Remember

From 60m sprints to the hilarious Teachers Balloon Race, our Prep–Year 2 Sports Carnival was full of energy and laughter, with Judson taking out overall champion honours!

Predictably unpredictable Melbourne weather greeted the Prep - Year 2 students as we gathered on the freshly mown Melton oval for our annual Sports Carnival.

Yet, the cool conditions did not deter our students from competing enthusiastically all day. In fact, the Prep boys were so excited for their 60m sprint that they kept on running past the finish line and almost ended up at Kurunjang Secondary!

Students competed in 12 running, jumping, throwing, weaving and tossing events, with the top students for each event being awarded House points and (arguably, more importantly) a 1st, 2nd or 3rd sticker.

In the much-anticipated Teachers Balloon Race, Mrs Clark crossed the finish line first despite losing the ballon at one stage, followed by Mrs Roussow and Miss Lemus, while Mrs Pardo and Miss Roach fell over each other and, in comical scenes, failed to finish.

The day finished with the Year 2 relay in which Taylor took out first place, yet it was Les Bleus House who had the last laugh as Judson were crowned overall Sports Day Champions!
