New Beginnings

Embrace new beginnings and the promise of growth as we welcome new students and staff to Heathdale for an exciting year ahead in Secondary!

Heathdale flower

It is a wonderful feeling to start something fresh and new! Our students are enjoying beginning a fresh new year with new challenges and opportunities awaiting them.

The Book of Lamentations tells us that the Lord’s mercies are new every morning! What a joy to see the sun come up on a new day and a new school year and be confident that God’s loving mercies will be with us day-by-day-by-day and His loving kindness never runs out or gets old.

For some of our students, this has also been their first week in Secondary (welcome Year 7s!) or their first week at Heathdale (welcome to all our new Year 8-11 students!)

We hope that everyone is settling in well and finding lots to look forward to each day.

Not only do we have new students to welcome, but we have a wonderful team of new staff joining us in Secondary this year, and several returning staff. Welcome to Mr Setunga, Ms Goudswaard, Mr Kaladari, Mrs Challa, Mrs Phuong, Mrs van Cleave, Mr Bustos, Mr Austin and Madame Byrnes who are all new staff to Heathdale. Also, welcome back to Mr Kilpatrick, Mrs Sahayam, Ms Puopolo, Mr Seedhom and Mr Broadstock who are on our team as well.

As we all settle in together for a great year of learning, please remember that if you have any concerns or questions, you can reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher, subject teacher, year level coordinator or the Werribee Secondary Office (werribeesecondary@heathdale.vic.edu.au) for advice and help.

Secondary Swimming Carnival Reminder

A reminder that the format has changed this year for our Swimming Carnival. The Secondary Swimming Carnival will take place next Wednesday, 14th February.

Years 11 and 12 students have the option of either attending the carnival for the full day to join in the fun of swimming or just cheering on their House, OR they can stay home for a study day. There will be no Year 11 or 12 classes running on the day of the Swimming Carnival.

Years 7-10 students will have their regular day of classes at school, except for those who have been selected for their House’s swimming team. Only competitors from Years 7-10 will attend the carnival this year and the regular timetable will run for all other students on campus. It is expected that if your child is not swimming for their House, they are at school and attending lessons.
