Remembrance allows us to pause and remember the sacrifices made by so many men and women who served in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping missions throughout history. It is a time to reflect on the impact of war on families and communities and to give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy today.
To commemorate Remembrance Day and honour the end of First World War hostilities, we held student-led assemblies at both campuses. Well done to all who contributed with speeches, readings, flag-raising and wreath-laying on the day, helping to bring the significance of Remembrance Day to life.
At our Werribee campus, we were honoured to welcome back Troy Choi, our College Captain in 2019, who led us in prayer. Troy went on to study at the Australian Defence Force Academy and the Royal Military College in Duntroon and now serves in the Australian Defence Force. His presence at the ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit of service and dedication to our country. His leadership and commitment, both in his time at Heathdale and in his military career, are an inspiration to us all as we remember those who have given their lives for our peace and safety.
