We were joined in last week’s Assembly by Sally McCall, a lieutenant in the Royal Navy, as she presented the ADFA Education Award to College Captain Troy Choi. Troy received this award due to his outstanding presentation in his application to the ADF, as well as his excellent achievements in the sporting, academic and leadership fields in Year 11. It was a great pleasure to recognise his achievement as a community, along with his parents.

Next Friday sees the 2019 China Team begin their two and a half week trip to China. After landing in Shanghai their travels will take them through Mongolia, to the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an, a ride on the bullet train, a visit to the Forbidden City and the Theatre before departing from Beijing. Please pray that Ms. Marion, Mr. Chehade, Mrs. Jin, Mr. Broadstock and the team enjoy God’s Blessing, good health and travelling mercies over the trip.

I also wish to update you regarding the Ping-Pong-a-thon last Thursday and Friday. Over 150 students took part – more than half of the Senior School – and the grand total raised was over $15,500. That total is a record for the amount raised in a school event anywhere in the state and a wonderful testament to the vision and commitment of Alex Richardson and the student support team. Even more importantly than this, the money raised will enable at least 10 young men and women escape slavery and embrace freedom.
